Are we raising a “Bedroom Generation”? New Centre for Social Justice research reveals that more than one in three 15-year-olds say they hardly ever leave their bedroom. Dr Sanjiv Nichani, Consultant Paediatrician at Leicester Children’s, responds to the findings and explains why his prescription for an increasingly screen-based and sedentary childhood is simple: movement is medicine. Regular physical activity supports both body and brain — and it doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated, just consistent.
