Dr Rebecca Foljambe, founder of HPFSS, gave evidence to the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology as part of Parliament’s inquiry into whether social media should be banned for under-16’s. Drawing on clinical experience & the growing body of evidence from doctors, teachers, police, safeguarding professionals and families, Dr Foljambe spoke about the harms increasingly being seen in connection with children’s use of smartphones, exposure to social media and harmful online content. “What we see in practice is valid evidence of the harm children are coming to on these platforms.”
